Board of Directors
Since April 2008, Mr. Berstein has been CEO and director of Propell Corporation, an e-commerce provider he co-founded that enables schools and nonprofits to sell merchandise online for fundraising and other programs. Mr. Bernstein is also co-founder of Creekside LLC, a private technology consulting company. From April 2002 to October 2006 Mr. Berstein served as Cheif Executive Officer and co-founder of PhotoTLC, Inc. Mr. Berstein also co-founded Palladium Interactive, Inc. and was an officer of Broderbund Software, Inc., and The Software Toolworks, Inc. (later renamed Mindscape, Inc.).
Prior to joining the board, Mr. Effren served as CFO for Westinghouse Solar from September 2007, and as president from December 2009 to January 2011. Prior to Westinghouse Solar he held various executive financial positions, including vice president of finance and chief financial officer at Knight Ridder, Inc.
Mr. Kalow is a Managing Director at Soquel Group, a consulting firm specializing in Intellectual Property and Business Development; he also serves on the board of directors of Rope Partner, a wind energy service company. Mr. Kalow holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in financial management from the University of Chicago. He attended Directors' College at Stanford Law School, June 2006.
Mr. Kenedi is President of Ron Kenedi Consulting. In prior positions, Mr. Kenedi oversaw the engineering, marketing and sales of industry-leading solar energy corporations in the U.S., Canada and Latin America. Corporations include; Sharp Electonics Solar Division, Kyocera Solar Inc. and PhotoComm Inc.
Mr. Kennedy serves as chief prosecuting attorney for the Hudson Riverkeeper and president of Waterkeeper Alliance. He is also a clinical professor and supervising attorney at Pace University School of Law's Environmental Litigation Clinic, and a venture partner and senior advisor to VantagePoint Venture Partners. Mr. Kennedy was named one of Time magazine's "Heroes for the Planet," and is a New York Times bestselling author. Mr. Kennedy is a graduate of Harvard University, studied at the London School of Economics, and received his law degree from the University of Virginia Law School. He subsequently attended Pace University School of Law, where he was awarded a Masters Degree in Environmental Law.
Ed Roffman most recently was CFO for two consumer software companies: Red Mile Entertainment, Inc. and Fluent Entertainment. He recently retired from Red Mile, but continues assisting management on a part-time basis. Roffman is also a principal in Creekside, LLC, a consulting firm that provides strategic directionm, assists in fund raising, and counsels on reorganizations, acquisitions and strategic partnering. Roffman formed Creekside in 1999. Prior to that, from 1994 to 1998, he was COO and CFO of Palladium Interactive, a consumer software company, where he was responsible for many functions including finance, human resources, manufacturing, and sales. From 1989 through 1994, he ran Roffman and Roffman Consulting assisting with equity raises, banking relationships and business plans to start-ups and turnaround companies. He also worked at Cellnet, formerly Domestic Automation, as CFO; Activision, as CFO, National Semiconductor Corporation, Automatic Data Processing, Inc. and Deloitte & Touche'. Roffman has his B.B.A. from Temple University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Jon Mathew Witkin, is co-founder and co-owner of Western States Glass, the largest independant flat glass distributor in Northern California. Western States Glass works extensively throughout the construction industry supplying materials to job sites and working on large and small construction projects throughout the estern U.S. Witkin has also had extensive experience purchasing and operating private carriers, importing building material products from various foreign countries, and working with various building subcontractors completing the supply chain to a finished property. Prior to founding Western States Glass in 1991, Witkin was a Partner at Bay Mirror and a Area Sales Manager at ACI Glass Distribution ("ACI"), as well asa serving in various sales and management roles at the Havlin Witkin Corporation which was sold to ACI. Witkin earned a Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Utah.
